Residents and businesses in Belford are being reminded that Monday is the deadline to respond to surveys which will be used to formulate a neighbourhood plan.

The housing-needs questionnaire and vision for Belford’s future have been delivered to every house, shop and business in Belford, Middleton and Warenton, and early signs are of an enthusiastic response.

The closing date for responses is Monday and the neighbourhood plan team of volunteers is encouraging a last-minute surge from late respondents.

The findings, when fully analysed, will be published and will help to give all of those living in the parish a significant pointer to future housing needs, new shops, business space and car parking, among other topics.

These findings will be used to register with Northumberland County Council the direction Belford parish wishes to follow right through to 2031.

Last-minute responses can be handed in to the paper shop on the High Street, the Co-op, St Mary’s CofE Middle School, Sunnyhills Farm Shop or the Community Group Shop.
