Northumberland County Council is lending its support to Recycle Week 2015.

The theme of the week, from Monday to Sunday, June 22 to 28, is ‘recycling around the home’, and the council will be encouraging people to expand their recycling routine to more rooms in the house.

Coun Ian Swithenbank, cabinet member responsible for local services, said: “Residents across Northumberland do a great job with their recycling, but there are always more items that can be considered, and which taken together can have a huge impact.

“During Recycle Week, we want to thank everyone for their recycling efforts and ask them, if they don’t already, to look a little further than the kitchen and recycle items from other rooms in the home.

“Everything you recycle saves resources and helps the environment.”
