THE Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is being celebrated by Doddington Ice Cream in true red, white and blue style.
The company has created a jubilee ice cream pack for local communities putting the final touches to their street party.
With 60 individual cartons supplied, everyone can join in to raise a loyal spoonful of ice cream to the Queen.
For those keen to recapture the true fashion of the 50s, the special jubilee packs contain 60 individual 90ml cartons, in red, white and blue Union Jack-branded tubs with retro wooden spoons.
At a Diamond Jubilee price of £60, the pack is a mixture of the traditional flavours of strawberry, chocolate and vanilla.
Jackie Maxwell, director of Doddington Dairy, hopes that street parties across the North East will be encouraged to think local when they celebrate.
She said: “This is such a huge event and one which everyone involved in making Doddington Dairy ice cream wanted to celebrate.
“Although we were not making ice cream on the farm 60 years ago, many family members here still remember raising a glass of milk from the dairy on Coronation Day in 1952.”
“By introducing this Jubilee package we hope that people across the north east will remember raising their spoons to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on June 5.”
Doddington Dairy, renowned for their innovative flavours are the original farm-produced ice cream makers in the North. Their celebrated ice creams use only natural flavours and ingredients and are available in specialty food stores, delicatessens and visitor’s attractions across the region.
