The first Northumberland Beer Festival will take place later this month to raise money for HospiceCare North Northumberland.
Organised by Coquetdale Round Table, it will take place at Longframlington Memorial Hall on Saturday, June 22 with a special sponsors’ night on Friday June 21.
It will feature 12 beers, two ciders, Pimms and wine as well as free soft drinks for children and drivers.
And the Saturday will see events for children such as face painting with live music in the evening and food available throughout the day with the event running from noon to 11pm.
Tabler Andrew Findlay said: “About two months ago we decided just to have a go and do it and see how much we could raise for Hospice Care.
“We have talked about it for years but never managed to get round to organising it.
“Knowing nothing about how to do it we have just given it a bash.
“We are grateful for the advice and offers of help that we have had from VIP Brewery, Bin21 and Hadrian and Border Brewery.
“Alnwick Round Table, who have their festival later in the year, have also been great.”
Entry to the beer festival will cost £5 which includes a commemorative glass and your first beer token. More tokens are £1.25 each for a half pint.
All proceeds will go straight to HospiceCare.
There are also a few barrels of beer left to sponsor should any local business be interested.
For a donation of £80 you will get 10 guest passes to the Friday night and your name on the beer menu.
