Students with an eye for art have used the inspiration of the county’s landscape and wildlife to decorate compost bins – and their creations are on show at The Alnwick Garden.
The transformed items, which have been given a contemporary touch, can be viewed at the attraction until Monday, May 12, and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favourite, with prizes awarded to the most popular.
People can also enter a silent bid for any of the bins, with all proceeds donated to the venue’s Roots and Shoots Garden, which supports a number of projects.
The project has been initiated by Northumberland County Council and involved 34 pupils from Northumberland College, to celebrate the vital role of compost.
