A new roof-top terrace has been unveiled at an Alnwick pub.

The smart-looking outside area at The Dirty Bottles Taproom & Smokehouse opened recently and boasts two covered televisions.

Owner Mark Jones, who reopened the Narrowgate venue last year after a major refurbishment, hopes the terrace will be an extra pull for customers.

He said: “We have done this for a few reasons and it’s been a great start. We were rammed up there last Thursday when the weather was beautiful.

“We wanted to help make the Dirty Bottles a destination and we felt that we needed a nice bespoke area for outside drinking and eating. It will also be the entrance to our bed-and-breakfast rooms, so it was important to give people a special first impression.

“Thirdly, Alnwick’s bars and restaurants don’t have a lot of outdoor garden space and we feel this is something that’s important to people.”
