Prestigious promotion for Amble man

Amble man Lee Easton has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant Major.

It follows years of dedicated service from the former Coquet High School pupil.

Since joining the Parachute Regiment at the age of 17, he has worked his way through the ranks of the Paras, starting as a private.

The 38-year-old has completed several tours of duty around the world, including three of Afghanistan.
