The Berwick-upon-Tweed Constituency Momentum group is to hold its inaugural meeting in Alnwick on Sunday, January 24.
The Momentum movement aims to bring together the energy and enthusiasm of people of all ages for the election of Jeremy Corbyn as the leader of the Labour party, with a view to opening up politics in the county and the constituency.
Its goal is to increase the involvement of all people and, for members of the Labour party, to increase party democracy and the involvement of the grass-roots members in decisions.
The Momentum movement meetings are open to people of all political parties and of none. However, specifically Labour Party business will be undertaken only by party members.
The meeting takes place at 12.30pm in the Mechanics Institute. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Mick in advance.
