Police are warning drivers of high-sided vehicles to take extra care due to high winds in Northumberland today.

Strong winds, with gales in places, are gusting throughout the county, although the Met Office has not issued a weather warning.

Westerly winds of 27mph are predicted to steadily ease overnight. The Met Office says tomorrow will be generally fine and mostly dry with some sunny spells and much lighter winds than today.
