Police search for Alnwick good samaritan

Police are appealing for a good samaritan to get in touch with them after an assault in Alnwick.

Between midnight and 12.30am on Sunday, December 18, a 41-year-old man was assaulted in the Windsor Gardens area near to the Wilkinson store, opposite Morrisons.

The offender then left the scene.

The driver of a white minibus stopped and helped the victim. He left the scene before officers could speak to him.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the assault and has been bailed pending further inquiries.

The victim attended Wansbeck hospital for treatment to a fractured shoulder and facial injuries. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

Detectives want to speak to the driver of the white minibus as he might have information that could help them and are appealing for him to get in touch with them at Berwick CID on 101 ext 69191.
