British Transport Police are appealing for information after a collision in Alnmouth station car park left a vehicle with more than £1,000 of damage. The driver of the car involved drove off.

Officers have released pictures of a man who they believe may be able to help with their inquiries into the incident, which took place on Wednesday, February 25, just before 7.15pm.

Investigating officer PC Ian Donnelly said: “The car involved, a Nissan Juke, drove into another vehicle in the station causing substantial damage. The driver then simply drove away. Unfortunately, CCTV at the station was unable to capture the car’s registration plate.

“However, we believe the man pictured, who had a terrier dog and a walking stick, may have important information about this incident, and I’d urge anyone who may recognise the man pictured to come forward and help this investigation.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting background log P/B4 of 8/6/2015. Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
