Police appeal after dog stolen from car in Northumberland

Police are appealing for information after a dog was stolen in north Northumberland.

Between 12.15am and 3.30am on Saturday, an 11-year-old Springer spaniel, was stolen from a secure car parked opposite the Northumberland Arms Pub, at West Thirston, near Felton.

The dog is called Tess and is liver and white in colour. She has a docked tail and is micro-chipped, but does not wear a collar.

Offenders smashed the rear windscreen of the car before taking Tess from the back of the car. Inquiries into the theft are ongoing and anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police.
