Detailed plans of an ambitious £2.5million scheme in Amble, which will create jobs, bolster tourism and capitalise on the town’s fishing heritage, go on show to the public today.
The major project was given planning approval in October and work is expected to start in July.
Key aspects of the development include the creation of a harbour village, comprising 15 small business units and a seafood centre.
Building a new waterside promenade and relocating the Coquet Shorebase Trust also forms part of the scheme.
A seafood broker post, as well as a harbour village coordinator, will be created and anyone interested in applying should call Julie Lilburn on 01665 712929.
Work on the harbour village is a priority and it is hoped that this will be completed by the end of November. The rest of the project should be finished by mid-2015.
The plans will be on show at Amble’s Fourways 2, from 3pm to 6pm.
