Planned roadworks on A1 in Northumberland next week

The Highways Agency is planning the following roadworks on the A1 in Northumberland over the next week, from Monday, to Sunday, March 22.

Alnwick: Alnwick South Bridge refurbishment phase 2. There will be a full closure southbound with all traffic running in contraflow on the northbound carriageway 24 hours a day. The A1068 below the bridge will operate under traffic signal control.The work will take place until August.

Smeafield, Belford: Drainage work. Traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 8am and 6pm. From March 18 to 31.

North Charlton: Sign work. Traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. Until March 20.

Stannington: Footpath crossing work. Lane closures in place north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. Until March 27.

Morpeth: Horticultural work. A lane closure north and southbound between 8am and 5pm. Until March 19.

Cheswick: Sign work. Traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. Until March 16.

Scremerston: Sign work. Traffic signals in operation north and southbound between 7am and 7pm. Until March 17.

Berwick: Sign work. Traffic signals and lane closures in operation north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. Until March 19.

Further south

A1M junction 62 to 63, County Durham: Barrier work. There will be 24/7 hardshoulder and lane one running with lane two being closed north and southbound. The work will take place until mid May.
