OVERNIGHT work will start on Tuesday to remove concrete beams from Rothbury’s road bridge.
The work is set to take place over three nights from 6pm to 6am.
A 350-ton crane will be used to remove the beams and there will be a team controlling traffic and pedestrians while work is being carried out while another team will be helping with the bridge works.
Pedestrian access to some areas will be restricted while crane lifts are under way and the footpath alongside the north of the river will be closed because the crame will be sited there.
Footpath access to the riverside adjacent to the boundary wall of Beech Cottage will also be closed.
All restrictions will be kept to the minimum required and are necessary to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
