Europe: Addition to reader letter
In his letter published in the Northumberland Gazette on March 31 David Brown MBE, JP, of Rothbury, wished to make an amendment to clarify his comments.
In response to an article published on March 10, he wished to state the following with regard to the impact of the European Union on the UK dairy industry.
The addition reads: “Does Julie Pörksen not know that our dairy industry is getting less and less because of the cheap milk prices controlled by our supermarkets, which are in the main foreign owned, and the cheap dairy products from other EU countries, and that if we remain in the EU we will be subject to even more to red tape and bigger forms for our farmers to fill in for every little thing they do on their own farm?”
