The latest Jam Jar Army dog of the week is another who had a tough time of it before being taken in by SHAK, this year’s Gazette charity beneficiary.
Steve Wylie, from the charity, said: “Dee is another sad soul who came to SHAK in difficult circumstances and was very stressed out.
“We know a little bit about her history and she is so good around people. She is such a typical German shepherd and is adorable.
“However, it had been reported that she was not very good with other dogs and is clearly very upset at being in kennels...but who could blame her.
“However, with a bit of time spent in the company of SHAK’s ambassadors Harvey and Grace, she has started to relax and even had a game of chase round the caravan with them.
“I’m sure with a bit more work and patience, she will overcome her fears once and for all and make someone a fantastic pet and companion.
“If you would like to be considered as a Forever Foster home for Dee then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org”
This year, the Jam Jar Army is supporting SHAK to continue to do its valuable work and we still need you to carry on collecting all your spare change in jars so that we can raise as much money as possible.
As reported in last week’s Gazette, one of the charity’s volunteers has organised an event this Saturday to boost the Jam Jar coffers.
The Christmas Fair takes place in Lesbury Village Hall on Saturday, from 11am to 3pm.
