This photograph, taken by Gazette reader Steve Clements, was taken on the road near Monk’s House, on the B1340 Seahouses to Bamburgh coastal road, which was closed by flooding last Thursday morning following heavy rainfall.

Traffic had to be diverted via Shoreston. It followed Environment Agency flood warnings last Tuesday for coastal rivers in north Northumberland as well as a specific alert for the Waren Burn at Waren Mill.
