From sledging fun to tough driving conditions and school closures, the snow continued to leave its mark on the region.

And things aren’t expected to improve over the next couple of days.

The Met Office has warned of icy stretches this morning, adding that there may also be a few light snow flurries.

Freezing fog patches may also add to travel difficulties. Things are set to deteriorate tomorrow, with heavy snow expected, as well as drifting over higher-level roads. On Sunday, the Met Office has said that heavy rain combined with snow melt could lead to localised surface-water and river flooding.
