A WORLD-RENOWED chef who made his first appearance at Alnwick Food Festival last year will be back again this autumn.
Frenchman Jean-Christophe Novelli will be making another guest appearance on both days of the event, which is now in its eighth year and takes place on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23.
Around 30,000 people flocked to the 2011 event to celebrate local food and it is hoped that Jean-Christophe will draw in the same crowds this year.
Karen Larkin, festival director, said: “We are delighted that Jean-Christophe is able to come back to the Alnwick Food Festival.
“It felt as though it was a flying visit last year and it will be lovely to have him at the festival for both days.
“He is so accommodating, very easy to work with and very passionate about local food.
“He was very impressed with the event and wanted to come back.
“He loved the town and the people and I am sure he will go down a storm again this year.”
A regular Alnwick Food Festival exhibitor, Northumberland Cheese Company won a gold for its Brinkburn cheese at the World Cheese Awards.
