THERE was no room at the inn for this travelling Frenchman.
But Bruno Maffei, pictured, was instead given temporary shelter in a barn, most appropriate for Christmas time.
The 49-year-old has been cycling around Europe and was given his make-shift accommodation when he arrived out of the blue at Richard and Suzanne Hodgson’s Howick farm.
“There was a knock at the door”, said Suzanne, who speaks some French. “He was wanting shelter. He had tried other places but was turned away. We felt he would be safe and sheltered in the barn.”
Bruno stayed for two nights and had supper with the family.
