A social worker who covers north Northumberland has been shortlisted for a major award.
Kate Elsdon is in the running to be named Mental Health Social Worker of the Year, as part of the Social Worker of the Year Awards 2016.
She works for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and is part of the North Mental Health Team, covering the Alnwick and Berwick area.
Kate is one of four social workers from Northumberland to be selected as finalists in the competition.
The others, all based in west Northumberland, are Lisa McCluskey (Team Leader of the Year, Adult Services Award); Heather Kent (Adult Social Worker of the Year Award); and Jennifer Charlton (Newly-qualified Adult Social Worker of the Year Award).
They are among 78 finalists across 15 categories and the winners from each category will compete against each other to be named the Overall Social Worker of the Year 2016.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Friday, November 25.
The prestigious awards ceremony is the leading celebration of its kind in the social-care sector.
