President Pat Minto opened the September meeting of North Sunderland and Seahouses WI, attended by about 25 members.
There was a lot to discuss as we do not hold a meeting during August. Secretary Sandra McFarlane read out the minutes of the last meeting.
It was reported that our afternoon tea held in the Methodist Chapel hall had been very successful. It is hoped to do the same next year.
The Group Meeting is being held today at Seahouses Social Club at 7.30pm, hosted by Bamburgh WI.
Future dates include a library event at Hexham on October 4, the AGM at Cardiff in June 2013, attended by a delegate from the group, a WI event at Heighley Gate on September 29 and Christmas events on December 8 and 9.
Applications are invited for Archive training and it was mentioned that the WI will feature in a TV series commencing soon.
Our next pub lunch will be on Saturday, September 29, at 12.30pm when we will visit the Pack Horse Inn at Ellingham.
George Scott concluded the busy evening by giving us an illustrated historical and local talk.
The raffle was won by Jean Dawson and the competition, L, was won by Joan Foster, with Peggy Wood second and Sheila Young third.
We all then settled down to a tasty supper.
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, October 4. All welcome.
