FEEDBACK was given to Northumberland County Council about the state of the county.
At last week’s full council meeting, councillors heard from the county’s three area committees, which were given the opportunity to contribute to the debate.
The meetings were held in mid-January and were attended by the leader, deputy leader, executive members, chief executive and director of finance.
Around 70 people were present at the north area meeting and three themes were raised.
Setting parish precepts and the county council budget was the main topic of conversation, alongside the capacity of parish councils to cope with future services and potential inequalities which might arise out of services being changed from being run by the county to being run by parish and town councils.
The budget was also a common theme at the west and south east area committees alongside parish matters.
