The construction of an oak timber-framed function room and the associated conversion, refurbishment and alterations to redundant farm buildings at Doxford Farm in order to host wedding receptions is set to get the green light despite a series of objections.

A linked listed-building bid has already been approved.

• An amendment to a previously-approved scheme at Eastfield, Newton-by-the-Sea, to include ramped access, an additional window to dormer cheek, increased window sizes on the south-east elevation and removal of glazed conservatory roof is opposed by the parish council, but recommended for approval.

• Despite a number of objections, including from Tillside Parish Council, an application for a prefabricated timber stable and feed store at Hetton Hall, Chatton, has been recommended for approval. Concerns raised include the impact of the development on the historic and Grade II-listed hall.

• Parish councillors in Felton are split on proposals to extend a double garage to form a two-bedroomed, single-storey cottage on land north-west of 6 Prospect Close with some citing overdeveoplment of the plot. Seven letters of objection have also been received, but the officer has recommended approval.
