New vicar takes over

A NEW vicar is taking over at an Alnwick church.

Rev Paul Scott is moving to St Michael’s on Bailiffgate.

A special service will be held for his induction in June, which will be attended by the Bishop of Newcastle.

Rev Scott is Northumbrian born and bred and spent 20 years working in local government and health service finance before training for ordination as a priest in the Church of England.

His move to Alnwick follows eight years as vicar of Shiremoor. Before that, he was a curate in North Shields for three years.

Invitations are being sent out to ministers of other churches, representatives of community organisations and others but all are welcome to the institution at St Michael’s on Tuesday, June 12 at 7.30pm.
