A Rothbury hotel has been taken over by new owners who plan to give it a new lease of life.
The Coquetvale on Station Road in the village was put up for sale in February last year by then owner Chris Greaves.
But three weeks ago Lee Pattison and Gemma Douglas took bought the establishment and plan to spruce it up.
A new menu is being put together for the hotel’s restaurant while a new chef has also been brought in.
Lee said: “I have always been involved in hotels and this came up for sale.
“It’s a lovely building and it just need s a bit of TLC.
“We have started refurbishing it now and we hope to have the whole place redecorated within the next four month ready for the spring season.
“New carpets are being put in in January as well.”
“It’s an exciting time and we just need people to know that we are here and we are open as a hotel and restaurant.”
Things will also be changing in the restaurant with it changing to a more traditional menu, but still focusing on locally-sourced produce.
And Sunday lunches have also started up again, with good feedback so far.
Lee has worked in hotels for a number of years and is looking forward to putting the Coquetvale back on the map.
He added: “We are open for Christmas Day and have a cracking line-up for New Year’s Eve as well.”
The hotel is also giving customers offers and keeping them updated through its Facebook page and on Twitter @TheCoquetvale.
