Upper Coquetdale Community Transport celebrated the launch of its new community minibus, funded by the Department for Transport’s Community Transport Minibus Fund.

The bus logo was designed by Thropton First School pupils Lucy-Jo Scott and Talitha Sharrocks.

Lucy-Jo cut the ribbon and Steven Bridgett, chairman of Rothbury Parish Council, declared the new minibus open for business.

The bus then set off for an inaugural run through Witton and Tosson to Sharperton then back to Rothbury through Hepple and Thropton. Passengers included the girls from Thropton and elderly residents who use the UCCT bus for shopping on a Friday.
