RESIDENTS have been urged to attend a meeting tonight, to give their views on plans for 47 new homes in a north Northumberland village.
Northumberland Estates is proposing to build a mix of affordable and private houses at Grange Road, Shilbottle.
The Estates has mailshot the community, giving information about the scheme and inviting comments from the public, prior to submitting a planning application to Northumberland County Council.
Colin Barnes, planning director at the Estates, said that there had been ‘a very positive response’.
But Shilbottle parish councillor Elisabeth Haddow told the Gazette: “A lot of people are quite concerned about the development and a lot of villagers are very annoyed about it.
“We need people to come along to the meeting and have their say.”
The meeting takes place at Shilbottle Community Hall at 7pm.
