MP for Berwick Anne-Marie Trevelyan has paid tribute to the staff and volunteers of Citizens Advice for the work they do to help solve residents’ problems.

Citizens Advice is a UK-wide organisation which provides free, confidential and impartial advice to people in person, over the telephone and online.

At an event in Parliament last week, attended with north Northumberland Citizens Advice volunteer and national trustee, John Woodman, Mrs Trevelyan met people from across the service.

She also discussed with representatives the type of problems raised by residents with the most common being queries about benefits, debt problems, employment and housing.

She said: “I would like to thank John Woodman and all the people in north Northumberland who give up their own time to help others and recognise their contribution to our local community.”
