An Alnwick mum has launched a series of high-energy and fun fitness classes – attracting nearly 200 bookings in her first week.
Joanna Packard officially started JPFitness on Monday and she hopes her aerobic classes will help promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
The 31-year-old is a fully-qualified instructor and she has launched two different sessions: CardioBlast and CombatHITT.
The mum-of-two has also started children’s classes, known as kidzFit, for youngsters at Alnwick’s Swansfield Park Primary School on Friday afternoons.
These classes aim to promote the benefits of exercise and she wants to expand these sessions to other schools.
Joanna said: “JPFitness offers high energy and fun fitness classes, suitable for all, to boost fitness and ensure you get a top workout.
“CardioBlast is a fast paced aerobics class that will improve power, speed and agility, while burning fat and toning up.
“CombatHITT is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is non-contact with short bursts of high-intensity exercises.
“JPFitness’s aim is to help people in Alnwick and Northumberland lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
“I will be offering a new weight-loss and nutritional system alongside diet plans to create healthy, active lifestyles.”
Joanna, originally from Alnwick, moved back to the town in July after spending three years in Northamptonshire.
She developed her love for keeping fit while down south and decided to launch JPFitness on her return to Alnwick.
She said: “I am passionate about the fitness industry and it became part of my life while I was in Northamptonshire.
“When I came back to Alnwick I noticed that there wasn’t a lot around in the style of the aerobics that I am doing.
“So I threw myself into the training, became qualified and launched JPFitness on Monday. I have had some great feedback and had 190 people booked in on my first week.”
Morning sessions take place in the town’s Mechanics Institute, while evening sessions are held in Alnwick Town Hall. It is £4 a session, or weekly and monthly memberships are available.
