THE dog who went missing after a car accident on the A1 has been found dead.

Last week, the Gazette reported how Rab, a three-year-old Border Terrier belonging to the Yates family, had escaped from the car amid crash chaos on the Felton bypass on Friday, January 7.

Unfortunately, the police found his body north of the crash site last Thursday and took him home to the family. Lynn Yates offered thanks on behalf of her family and the family of Alan Brown (the other man in the car during the accident) to everybody who helped at the scene of the crash and all those who helped to search for Rab.

She wrote: “I would personally like to thank PC Angus Murray from Alnwick for his help with the crash and for finding our beloved dog so we had some peace of mind.

“The local community of Felton has also been very helpful with posters and spreading the word.”
