A new door-to-door mini- bus service has been launched between Amble and Ashington.
North East Equality and Diversity (NEED) has secured funding from the Northumberland Sustainable Community Transport Initiative Get Going Fund for the service on a Tuesday.
Vee Robinson, chief executive of NEED, said: “We are thrilled that we are able to operate this service to help those most vulnerable in the community, in particular older people, those with a disability, people who are socially or rurally isolated and those with economic deprivation and unable to access suitable public or private transport. I would like to thank Couns Robert Arckless and Scott Dickinson for their part in helping to secure the funding.”
Pick-ups will be between 9.30am and 10.30am with a return journey from Ashington around 1.30pm.
