Police searching for a man in Northumberland found a body yesterday morning.

A spokeswoman for Northumbria Police said: “At 8.53am on Sunday, police received a report expressing concerns for a man in Harbottle (near Rothbury). Police and paramedics attended and the body of a man was found in a car parked in a public car park. Inquiries are ongoing into the death and there’s no indication of any third-party involvement at this stage.”

It follows an appeal published on the Gazette website on Saturday night in which police had expressed concerns for the welfare of a 46-year-old man missing from the Morpeth area. He was believed to be driving a silver Skoda Yeti.
