Young couple calibrate new business ventures

Susie and Shane McDonald

Susie and Shane McDonald

A young couple who first met in Edinburgh and then moved to New Zealand have now settled in Eglingham, bringing with them two unique but complementary business ventures.

Susie McDonald, 29, and husband Shane, 33, share a company name but have different approaches to team building and people development.

Susie runs Calibrate Business, offering growth strategies to existing and start-up businesses, while

Shane runs Calibrate Challenge – a series of mud runs with obstacles. There is also a child-friendly mini-mud area.

Shane aims to raise money for a number of charities.

While the pair run their respective Calibrate businesses separately, there are opportunities when the couple are able to offer packages for clients to try both sides of the business.

The next Mad North East Mud Run takes place on November 11, at Slaley Hall.

Another aspect of Calibrate Business, a three-month programme called Calibrate Boardroom, will run in Alnwick in January for established businesses.

Susie will also hold a free networking event with a focus on sustainable business growth in Alnwick on November 14.
