Workshop project to hold first open day

A new project, which aims to give older men from north Northumberland the opportunity to share and learn new woodwork skills and traditional crafts, while benefitting from a social environment, is holding an open day next week.

The Royal Voluntary Service’s Men in The Workshop is a new project based at Unit 20 of Haugh Head Business Park in Wooler.

If you would like to become involved in the project as a service user or volunteer or if you are a teacher of traditional crafts, then the organisers would love to hear from you.

The project was set up with help from the National Lottery and the People’s Millions and it hopes to become sustainable in the coming months.

The open day takes place on Wednesday and the doors will be open from 10am to 3pm and people are welcome to pop in and see what they do.

If you are interested and would like to know more, pop along on the day or call 07834 753387 or 01668 260248.
