WATCH: Rothbury Traditional Music Festival parade

Waiting for Video...

Rothbury Highland Pipe Band started off this year’s Rothbury Traditional Music Festival with a parade through the centre of the village today.

The band was formed in 1920 as Rothbury Kilted Pipe Band and, like many institutions, has had fluctuations in the numbers of band members.

The current Rothbury Highland Pipe Band has members from all walks of life and from as far afield as Newcastle.

It is 22 in number and has youngsters learning the ropes to ensure the band will continue well into the future.
