And despite the prestigious North Sea Tall Ships Regatta 2016 reaching its conclusion in Blyth today, there were still thousands of people who chose to attend the annual event which celebrates the best of rural life and takes place in the countryside to the south of Wooler.

Alongside the usual competitions for horses, sheep, cattle, goats and donkeys; the entries in the horticultural and industrial sections; and the wide array of trade and food stands, the above video gives a flavour of the entertainment on offer in the main ring.

There was an impressive motorcycle stunt demonstration from Jamie Squibb Freestyle; a sheepdog demonstration by Katy Cropper - the first woman to win One Man and His Dog - and her daughter Henrietta; and a parade to launch the standard of the new North Northumberland Branch of the Royal British Legion. Elsewhere on the show field, there was music from the Alnwick Playhouse Concert Band.
