HospiceCare North Northumberland has been chosen as the official charity for the St Cuthbert’s Way Challenge Walk – and there are still places available for people to enter .
The 19.5-mile cross-border trek takes place on Saturday and is organised by Rothbury-based Shepherds Walks.
Participants can choose to do the event as a guided (£35) or self-guided (£30) walk.
After checking in at Wooler, walkers will be transported over the border to Morebattle where they will start their epic journey, initially through the borders before climbing up over The Cheviots, as participants follow the St Cuthbert’s Way back to Wooler.
Rebecca Taylor, from the hospice, said that the charity was delighted to be selected as the beneficiary of the walk, which starts at 8am.
Jon Monks, of Shepherds Walks, said: “It is a privilege to work with a local charity for the walk.
“It is a great walk in its own right and gives people an opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause, which is the icing on the cake.”
