Volunteer to help one of county’s top estates

A volunteer recruitment evening is being held at one of Northumberland’s most popular attractions.

The National Trust’s Cragside is looking for people to join its successful volunteer team.

Cragside needs help to conserve and enhance both the house and the estate.

And a volunteer recruitment evening is being held on Thursday, April 24 from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Volunteers help with gardening and landscape conservation, provide vital information as room guides in the house, bring the house to life through Victorian baking days, help with school groups, and support events.

House steward Katherine Foggon said: “Cragside welcomes over 200,000 visitors each year, so we’re always looking to take on more volunteers who can help us on a regular basis learn new skills and develop their CV.”
