A series of events are being hosted by Alnwick Markets in the run-up to the festive season.
Last Saturday, the town’s Market Place hosted a Christmas Market, with local produce, preserves, gifts, hot and cold food and a visit from some Northumberland alpacas, from Barnacre. It tied in with Britain’s first Small Business Saturday campaign.
The last farmers’ market of the year will take place in the same location on Friday, December 20, with a host of locally-produced goodies, gingerbread decorating and some tasty treats and gifts for the family to enjoy.
Game expert Emma Whittingham will be doing some cookery demonstrations between 11am and 1pm to include rabbit, pheasant and other game dishes.
And the last market before Christmas will be on Saturday, December 21, with family entertainment and more on offer for the last-minute shoppers in town.
The Saturday markets run from 9am to 4pm, while the farmers’ market takes place between 10am and 2pm.
