Village’s Royal praise

Floral displays in a north Northumberland village have been given the Royal seal of approval.
Following his visit last month, Prince Charles has praised the efforts of Warkworth in Bloom for making the village look attractive.
His kind words have delighted those involved.
Sandie Taylor, of the bloom committee, said: “When it was announced that Prince Charles was to visit Warkworth, we wrote to him welcoming him to the village and pointing out the three new beds specially created for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
“Following his visit, we received a letter from Clarence House in which his private secretary said that Prince Charles greatly appreciated his visit to Warkworth and thought it delightful, and to pass on his thanks to Warkworth in Bloom for helping to make Warkworth such a beautiful place.
“Of course we’re thrilled with that for Warkworth in Bloom, but it is also an accolade for the whole village.”
