Changes have been made at the top of a north Northumberland community trust following its annual general meeting (AGM).

Barbara Rattcliff has retired as a trustee of the Glendale Gateway Trust after 14 years’ service.

A former chairman of the trust, Barbara has in recent years served as treasurer.

At the Trust’s AGM at the Cheviot Centre in Wooler this month, she was presented with a bouquet by current chairman Patsy Healey and director Tom Johnston.

“Barbara has been a major part of the trust since the early days,” said Mrs Healey.

“Her leadership and advice over the years has helped build our reputation with partners and with the Glendale community.

“We’ll miss her as a trustee, but know that she’ll be around to keep an eye on us, because she will continue to be a regular visitor and user of the Cheviot Centre.”

Also at the meeting, Alison Hilton, Frank Mansfield and Julian Bales were elected as trustees for the next three years.

Mrs Healey announced that for the coming year, Frank Mansfield will be vice-chairman, Mark Cuddigan will be treasurer – taking over from Barbara, David Buckle will chair the asset development group and Rob Marriner will continue to chair the housing group.

The same day, the Trust featured on the BBC’s national news bulletins on improving unemployment figures.
