Tinies net cash for life-saving fund

Tiny Woods hosted a fund-raising football match between the children who attended the soccer sessions and their parents.

FA-licensed coaches Josh Rutherford and Jamie Dixon organised the event, which collected more than £400 for The Stephen Carey Fund.

The football match was held as a thank-you, after The Stephen Carey Fund donated medical kit bags to Tiny Woods in March.

Rutherford said Tiny Woods wanted to give something back, adding: “Everyone had fun and we raised lots of money for a worthy cause.”

Tiny Woods was set up in July 2013 for youngsters of all abilities to engage in fun football activities. It has two summer camps during the school holidays for boys and girls aged four to 13.

The first is Monday to Friday, August 8, followed by the second from Monday, August 18, to Friday, August 22.

Both are 10am to 1pm at Stobswood Welfare. Call 07714 862292.
