Three are arrested after farm break-in

Three people have been arrested after thefts from a farm in Longframlington.

Between 10pm on Wednesday, July 2, and Thursday, July 3, thieves broke into a farm yard and stole a quad bike, pressure washer, chainsaw and drill.

A 34-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and a 31-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted theft. All three have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Northumberland Superintendent Mick Paterson said: “Rural crime is a priority for officers in Northumberland and we are working with local people and the rural communities to keep the area safe.

“We need people to help us, to be our eyes and ears in our communities.

“Report suspicious people or behaviour to us and speak to us about any concerns you have.”
