A take-away shop in Alnwick was damaged in the early hours of Monday.

Police were called to Barresdale Triple Diner at 12.50am after windows were smashed and the force helicopter and officers searched the area to find those responsible.

Three men approached the premises before banging on the doors and windows then eventually breaking the glass and making off.

The men were wearing dark clothing and plastic carrier bags over their heads. One was wearing a woolly hat.

Officers are in the area carrying out inquiries and reassuring residents.
