Store lends a hand to give room lease of life

A generous donation by an Alnwick store helped give a school’s sensory room a new lease of life.

Wilkinson, on Lagny Strete, provided paint for Barndale House School’s revamped facility.

Six team members from the shop also spent two evenings at the school, which caters for three-to-19 years olds whith learning disabolitesm, painting the room in a range of pastel shades, to create a relaxing and calming area.

Colin Bradshaw, head teacher at Barndale House School, said: “We are overwhelmed with the newly-refurbished sensory room. We are so grateful to the Wilkinson’s team members for volunteering their own time and for providing us with the much-needed products to complete the restoration.”

Lee Wade, store manager, said: “We were pleased to donate our time and products to such a deserving school.”
