Have your say

Dressed to impress, children from around north Northumberland have been bringing their favourite characters to life for World Book Day.

From fairies and princesses, to brave knights, pirates and firemen, youngsters – and some members of staff – immersed themselves in the world of fiction for today’s event.

There were some famous faces too, with some of the pupils coming into school as Harry Potter, Superman, Robin Hood and The Gruffalo.

The Gazette has captured the fun at a number of schools, such as Embleton Vincent Edwards CofE Aided First School, Alnwick South First School, the Duke’s Middle School, St Michael’s CofE First School and Lindisfarne Middle School.

The slideshow features some of the colourful costumes that were on display, but more pictures will appear in next Thursday newspaper.
