Brave staff members from The Grange Care Home, in Rennington, and some family members, completed a fund-raising skydive.

The money collected will be split between the residents’ recreational fund and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Those to complete the jump were Julie Stephenson and her daughter Laura, as well as Christine and David Truman, Dominic and Angus Barzyk and Hannah Nichol.

The jump took place last month at Peterlee Parachute Centre and the daredevil fund-raisers leapt from between 15,000 and 12,000 feet.

They aim to raise around £1,000 for their efforts.

Money is still coming in and people can continue to donate to the cause, by either popping into the care home or by sending a cheque.
