A north Northumberland first school held a fashion show last week to unveil its new uniform and logo.

As previously reported in the Gazette, Alnwick South First School has left the Aln Community Schools Federation and from the start of the next academic year in September will be renamed Swansfield Park First School.

As part of this process, it was decided to rename the school and therefore a new logo and uniform was required. It also means that the non-branded uniform items are changing to ensure that parents are able to buy them all readily from stores such as supermarkets.

Last Thursday, the pupils showcased the new items – both the uniform and sports kit – for parents at a special fashion show event.

The school held a competition for the children to create the new logo and the finished article was based on designs by by Mia Howarth and Bea Sudlow.

The governors are concerned about affordability and therefore all pupils will receive a free sweatshirt/cardigan and book bag, while Friends of Alnwick South (the PTA) will be helping with sports kit.
